A "scam outbound service" gang in Ziyang, Sichuan was terminated.
Recently, Yanjiang Branch of Ziyang City Public Security Bureau in Sichuan Province successfully destroyed a gang of "electric fraud outbound call service". By setting up VOIP (Voice Gateway) equipment, the gang disguised overseas fraudulent calls as domestic landline numbers, resulting in more than 10 people being defrauded of hundreds of thousands of yuan in just half a month. At present, Wei, who set up the equipment, has been sentenced to 2 years and 11 months in prison, and other people involved are still under investigation.
At the beginning of this year, the Yanjiang Branch of Ziyang Public Security Bureau found that Wei was suspected of building VOIP equipment to provide conditions for overseas fraudsters to cheat. In order to eradicate the "outbound" dens in time, Yanjiang police immediately organized a secret arrest operation and arrested Wei in the lobby of a hotel in Ziyang City. After the on-site trial, Wei confessed that the equipment set up in his hotel room was providing "electric fraud outbound" service for overseas fraudsters. After the search, the police seized four mobile phones, two VOIP devices and one laptop involved in the crime.
Further investigation by the police found that Wei and others not only set up equipment in Yanjiang District, ziyang, but also preset a number of VOIP equipment in Neijiang and other places, ready to provide a new round of "scam outbound" service for overseas fraudsters at any time. In a neighboring city and county in Ziyang, Wei has planned new dens in three towns and villages, with a full set of VOIP and supporting equipment, and even negotiated a commission of more than 800 yuan per hour with overseas electric fraud gangs.
"Once any new den is opened, thousands of fraudulent calls will be made intensively within a few hours, radiating more than 3 million people within the local area code, and the economic losses caused will be incalculable." Yu Yang, an anti-fraud policeman from Yanjiang Branch of Ziyang Public Security Bureau, said.
After seizing the hardware facilities, in order to prevent the resurgence of the gang, the police further pursued the organizational structure of the gang. In the following four months, the police handling the case went to many provinces and cities to collect and collect evidence, and accurately grasped the identity information of Wei’s family. After the gang’s organizational structure and criminal members surfaced one after another, in May this year, the police handling the case went to Fujian, Zhejiang and other places to collect the nets, and arrested the three main suspects involved in the case in one fell swoop, successfully cutting off more than 70 criminal chains of "electric fraud calling out black ash production", eliminating a large number of social hidden dangers.
At present, Wei, who set up VOIP equipment, was sentenced to 2 years and 11 months in prison by Yanjiang District People’s Court for fraud. Three suspects, including Que and Cao, have been criminally compulsory by the police according to law because of other illegal crimes. The case is under further investigation and processing.
