Hong Qiao, the principal offender of the ＂Nanjing female college student murder case＂, was executed.

　　CCTV News:According to "Xishuangbanna Intermediate People’s Court" WeChat WeChat official account news, with the approval of the Supreme People’s Court, on May 7, 2023, the Intermediate People’s Court of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture executed Hong Qiao in accordance with legal procedures. Procuratorial organs shall send personnel to supervise on the spot according to law.

　　On June 27th, 2022, the Intermediate People’s Court of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture sentenced Hong Qiao to death, deprived of political rights for life and fined RMB 10,000. After Hong Jiao appealed, the Yunnan Higher People’s Court ruled in the second instance that the appeal was dismissed, the original judgment was upheld and submitted to the Supreme People’s Court for approval. After review, the Supreme People’s Court believed that the facts identified in the first-instance judgment and the second-instance ruling were clear, the evidence was true and sufficient, the conviction was accurate, the sentencing was appropriate, and the trial procedure was legal. He approved the Yunnan Higher People’s Court to uphold the criminal ruling of the first instance that Hong Qiao was sentenced to death.

　　Before the execution of the death penalty, the Intermediate People’s Court of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture arranged for Hong Qiao to meet his close relatives according to law, which fully guaranteed the legal rights of the executed criminals.
