The causes of pollution were initially determined by the abnormal color of exposed water bodies in pits and ponds in several villages and towns of Bazhou, Hebei Province.

The water in these pits is dark red and black, and the area is not small. In this regard, the reporter came to Bazhou City to investigate.

In this ditch, there is a pit that is two times larger than the ordinary round dining table. The color of the water in the pit is dark black, and the soil around the pit is all black."

　　　　　　 In addition to Tianjiakou Village, Jianchapu Town, the reporter visited and found that there are five ponds with abnormal water color in Xiaojiabao Village, Yangfengang Town, near the village and in the village respectively. From the aerial picture, the combined area of the three ponds outside the village is larger than a football field. There are many cyanobacteria floating on the water surface of the pond, and the cyanobacteria floating on the water surface of one pond accounts for more than half of the water surface, which is sticky, and there is a lot of domestic garbage beside the pond.

　　　　　　 The villagers told the reporter that the two pits in the village were artificially formed. The water in the pits was mainly seeped through the underground by the river at the edge of the village, as well as the sewage that was saved by rain and poured in.

　　　　　　 Villagers in Xiaojiabao Village, Bazhou City: "What is formed by borrowing soil around to build houses is the water and swill that people cook. He has no place to pour, but he can only flow in the pit. There are no industrial factories and pollution-free factories in the village."

　　　　　　 It is understood that since December 4 this year, Bazhou City has organized many departments in the territory to start to treat these pits and ponds, salvage the garbage floating on the water surface, clean up the garbage on the edge of the pits and ponds with excavators, and then cover them with new loess.

　　　　　　 Chen Lei, director of the Water Pollution Prevention and Control Office of Bazhou Ecological Environment Branch, said: "Our local towns and villages now block these (sewage) outlets that can flow into the pits and ponds, and then clean up the garbage on the shore. Then we guide the towns and villages to hire professional third-party institutions to scientifically manage it."

At present, Bazhou City has comprehensively carried out four special actions: pit and pond environment, urban and rural garbage, rural livestock pollution and river ditch pollution remediation.
