The three Northeast actors, Zhang Yi, Yu Hewei and Lei Jiayin, followed the native Shanghai director Xu Zheng to learn dialects in order to approach the Jiangnan accent. Chen Shu, who has visited rural educators, draws characters from real-life experience and warmly interprets the role of the principal. As a native of Beijing, Li Chen noticed the difference in word order and tail tone between the north and south dialects, and asked for the specific words of the tone words before filming, so that she could speak the lines more naturally. Yang Zi’s "Tofu Xishi" Jiang Ziya used the live broadcast to sell tofu, and she watched a lot of live broadcasts before joining the group to learn the common terminology of live streaming host.
