Among the doctors, bachelor degree or above accounted for 57.4%, an increase of 8 percentage points over 2015. Second, the construction of grassroots doctors has achieved results. In our country, under the guidance of strengthening the grassroots, the construction of doctors in grassroots medical and health institutions has made great progress in recent years. By the end of 2019, the number of doctors in primary health care institutions reached 1.437 million, an increase of 335,000 or 30.4% over 2015. It can be seen that the growth of the number of grassroots doctors is much higher than that of the overall number of doctors. Third, through key support, it has also achieved results in the construction of some weak professional doctors. For example, the number of doctors who are in short supply in pediatrics and psychiatry has increased rapidly in recent years. Doctors who specialize in pediatrics have reached 234,000 in 2019. The construction, ability level, overall structure and layout of the medical team have been steadily improved, and the medical team is moving from high-speed growth to high-quality development. The majority of doctors, together with the majority of medical workers throughout the country, have also made active efforts in providing medical services and improving people’s health.In 2019, the number of medical and health institutions in China reached 8.72 billion, an increase of 4.9% compared with 2018 and 13.4% compared with 2015. In terms of the number of hospitalizations, the number of hospitalizations in medical and health institutions nationwide in 2019 was 266 million, an increase of 4.5% over 2018 and 26.3% over 2015.
